Babcock seems to be on a completely different page than Dubas. I have my doubts if this can work long-term.

Yup, seems like a dialectical relationship as opposed to a symbiotic one.

You always seem to have such a positive take on things. Do you play poker with UG on Fridays?

Babcock has proven time and again that he doesn't want to employ toughness, or if you want to spew some recent NHL jargon, "heavy" players within his lineup. His coaching history proves as much regardless of his lip-service.

Dubas clearly feels that a team only requires skill.

Both ideologies (actually, they're pretty much one-in-the-same) will show if that way of thinking really works in the playoffs or not.

History have proven, for pretty much over the last 30+ years, that a skill-only based team can't go all the way.

No character and toughness = another first round loss for the leafs if they play Boston or Washington. Good.

If you compare today’s hockey to anything before 2014 you are flat out wrong.

Hockey has changed so much.

Please never compare 1988 to 2019 hockey ever again.

History has taught you nothing. Even though you want to deny this as a blind Leaf fan, there are key indicators that will determine post season success whether we are talking about a vanilla and soft modern NHL or the more rugged past.

There's no way to tell anything about Babcock and Dubas' relationship. I'm sure they butt heads like any coach and GM would. Winning fixes everything.

How old are you? 5?

Have you noticed that the world changes? Some things don’t work like they did in the past?

This is different hockey. And the Pens proved that with their theee cups.

TB is proving it with a dominant season.

Enough with this you can’t win without “toughness” crap. It’s crap.

The Pens did it 3 times. And don’t be one of those tools who say that’s invalid because it proves your point wrong. I love those types of people.

I just find these types of people hilarious.

I love how the Pens winning three cups is invalid.

“No that doesn’t count because the Penguins had a lot of skill which overcame the “toughness” factor”

I wouldn’t be surprised in the least if Babcock doesn’t last his entire contract with the Leafs. He has to give postseason results at some point. Babs got taken to school twice by Trotz this year.

I think it would be a good idea to get Freddy as much rest as possible down the stretch so he’s fresh for the playoff race. Getting home ice advantage isn’t worth having a goalie completely dead when it matters the most.

The Pens winning is invalid because Matthews and Marner aren’t Crosby and Malkin...
